Description
The inspiration for this design was a day of scuba diving. While Scuba diving, I notice bubbles rising to the surface as flat silver discs. They are flat discs because of the water pressure. But as the water pressure decreases, the bubbles rise, and they expand to become round bubbles. Hence the Water theme of gold earrings was born. The Water Theme is an understated contemporary design.
Fusion is the term used to bond two metals; as you see on the Water theme, gold earrings have a silver base. Subsequently, the foil may melt without pressure and form a ‘blob’ rather than a permanent bond. In this case, the two fused metals are pure gold and pure silver. The fusion technique requires patience and skill.
The sand-textured finish glistens and shimmers in the light. Pure gold and pure silver are the perfect metals for this finish.
The handmade butterflies have a style of their own and are durable and practical. Neoprene grips the post for added security and is resistant to oils, heat, water, and solvents. Because the Neoprene butterflies are slightly larger than manufactured butterflies, they hold the earrings in an upright position rather than falling forward. Neoprene butterflies are the perfect solution.
