Description
The Forget-me-not pendant features a grain-set diamond at its centre. The diamond adds sparkle, while the finish on the pure gold and pure silver shimmers and glistens in the light. The surface texture is subtle, a fine granular texture that allows the surface to gleam. The fresh, bright clarity of the pendant is appealing and distinctive. It’s a delight to give or receive such a unique individual piece of jewellery.
Contemporary artisan jewellers often use ancient techniques in their work. One of the techniques is ‘keum boo,’ which is fusion. Fusion is a technique where two pure metals bond together under heat and pressure; if done correctly, it forms a permanent and strong bond. The metals must be pure and alloy-free for the fusion to be successful. ‘Keum boo’ is an ancient Korean technique. Japanese and Chinese artisans also incorporate fusion into their metal objects and artifacts.
